Provided the spectrum of carbon capture routes – each with their own technology readiness level, regulatory frameworks, and pathways for utilizing captured carbon dioxide, complexity exists within industry regarding the best-balanced course of action to tackle these challenges.  Furthermore, variations in plant location, nature of assets being operated, and availability of sequestration geology further add complexity to the available industry choices.  Finally, alternative pathways for mitigating GHG emissions, such as utilizing hydrogen, production of renewable fuels or the purchase of carbon credits all present potential alternatives.

It is easy to see that the best-balanced course of action isn’t straightforward.
