The Geophysical Industry Field Trip (GIFT) brings geoscience students from across Canada to Alberta for a multi-day crash course in industry geophysics. In the past it has included:
- Live demos of modern seismic acquisition equipment
- Industry software training sessions
- Workshops on seismic processing and interpretation
- A guided geological hike in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin
This years Geophysical Industry Field Trip (GIFT) 2024 will be held from Wednesday, May 29th 2024 to Saturday, June 1st, 2024 in Calgary Alberta. (The Wednesday evening networking kickoff event will be optional).
The field trip portion of this event will take place on Friday, May 31st, 2024 with a visit to Carbon Management Canada’s (CMC) Newell County Facility.
