Learning Objectives
- A comprehensive understanding of the factors that Canadian energy regulators (e.g., AER, CER) will consider in their review of any asset or licensee transfer
- An awareness of how ESG related considerations can add, or detract, significant value to a transaction
- An understanding of the key components of a liability management plan that the acquirer will need to develop and implement post-transaction
- An understanding of requirements for the new Directive: Licensee Life-Cycle Management
Our ESG Learning instructors and course developers have a wealth of experience delivering ESG solutions to the global energy industry. This course was developed by regulatory experts Mark Taylor, Alanda Allum and Rob Cruickshank. As former senior leaders at the Alberta Energy Regulator, the teaching team has over 35 years of regulatory expertise and experience within the energy industry. This team will assist stakeholders avoid common mistakes and misconceptions about the regulatory process in order to maximize the efficiency of application approvals.

- Module 2: Documentation and Engaging the Regulator
- Module 3: Transfer Process and Considerations (i.e. Security requirements or other potential conditions imposed by the AER)
- Module 4: Liability Management Plan, Site Inspections and Enforcement
